Four-Phase Process - Testing/Implementation
Fusion Technology Partners, LLC Four-Phase Process™ consists of:
An application is born. Testing and Implementation is where we bring all of the strategic elements together and begin production of the site. In this phase, we also reconfirm that this has been accomplished and make any necessary additions and enhancements to our Clients' applications based on the originally set goals. The Testing and Implementation phase completes the delivery of a fully configured and tested application to cleints' customer base, and ongoing maintenance.
Testing
The application must be thoroughly tested to ensure proper operations. The Project team defines appropriate testing scenarios that thoroughly test all applications and major customizations in the solution design. The tests are run first by category (system and load tests) and then together (integration tests) to ensure that all applications function properly and as anticipated in the design. Content is also tested to assure proper presentation and response time.
Implementation
Final product information content is converted during this stage. Required interfaces and integration are implemented and validated. The project team conducts on-site technical training sessions so that client operations and administration personnel understand how to maintain the applications, data, and hardware. Training for personnel who will administer commerce as well as non-commerce aspects of the site are also provided. In addition, acceptance testing is performed to ensure that the applications meet defined business process requirements. Operations acceptance testing is performed to ensure that the system is production-ready and can handle expected volumes of users and data. The final step of the implementation process occurs when the client agrees that the required system functionality is ready to “go live.”
Post Implementation
This stage focuses on assessing the level to which the project actually achieved the stated objectives. Additionally, the review is designed to provide suggestions where possible improvements may be made. Outstanding applications or customizations in development that may be required in the future need to be planned and implemented. These issues are noted and reported to management with an estimate of the effort required to complete the next phase.
This step may also include ongoing application maintenance if desired. Our primary focus, however, is to transfer maintenance activities to the client. Ongoing maintenance will be defined and propose a separate document.
